Registered Nurse (RN), Medical/Surgical, Charge, Nights (7p-7a)
$20,000 Sign-on Bonus Eligible
Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift .

- Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.

- Provides direct patient care as needed.

- Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.

- Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.

- Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.

- Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.

- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

- Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.

- Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred. Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist, pharmacology exam, and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific unit.

- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice. Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided on assigned units as required with leadership qualities.

- Requires the cognitive ability and practical ability to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population assigned, considering patient age, growth and development, and diagnosis with full implementation of the nursing process to include Assessment/Reassessment, Nursing Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.

- Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients and/or equipment, manual and finger dexterit y and eye hand coordination.
