  • Relocation Assistance (based on eligibility) -Work Performed -Clinical Services Nurse- EP Lab at Duke University Hospital -will plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures to include collecting and analyzing patient data, developing and implementing nursing care plans, establishing interpersonal relationships with patients, evaluating nursing care given and communicating to proper personnel relevant facts about patients, action taken and patient responses. Nurse clinician will enhance patient care by supporting and educating patients and staff. Facilitating patient triage and ensuring seamless coordinated care delivery by each of the complimentary components of the atrial fibrillation team. -Provide post-procedure teaching and provision of discharge instructions. Collaborate with team members in coordinating discharge planning, referral for follow up tests, return visits and treatment needs. Maintain patient record including data entry. Development and update of patient education materials per policy. Facilitate team conference meetings in relation to care of the patient or program issues as required. Follow up phone calls to assess patient status post procedure at 30 days, 6 months and 1 year. Facilitate patient triage calls when issues arise. Collaboration with the clinical service nurse in the outpatient clinic to provide continuity of care. The Nurse clinician will travel to Duke Regional and Duke Raleigh Hospital. - -Assist the Cardiovascular Short Stay staff to facilitate the recovery and discharge of patient's post Atrial Fibrillation procedure. - Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources. Assist in the development and implementation of general policies and procedures. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. -Work Schedule: - -Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30pm or 9am- 5:30pm - -Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of scope of the registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and unlicensed staffKnowledge of and appropriate application of the nursing processKnowledge of professional theory, practice and procedureAbility to assess nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their familiesAbility to independently seek out resources and work collaborativelyAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership and othersAbility to teach patients and families in accordance with the nursing plan of careAbility to use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment, and follow-upAbility to use fine motor skillsCompetent in BLS and/or other specialized life support requirements designated by work areaAbility to record activities, document assessments, plan of care, interventions, evaluation and re-evaluation of patient statusAbility to use computer and learn new software programsAble to document and communicate pertinent information using computer and/or paper documentation toolsAbility to navigate the entity to provide clinical care for patientsAbility to withstand prolonged standing and walkingAbility to remain focused and organizedWorking knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering routine and special treatments to patientsWorking knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautionsWorking knowledge and completion of appropriate The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory requirementsPre-employment Physical Capacity Testing Required -Qualifications -EducationGraduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification. -ExperienceTwelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.Two years of nursing experience preferredTriage experience preferredCardiovascular ICU experience preferredCardiovascular stepdown experience preferredEP Lab experience preferred - -Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification -Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
